What is HTML ?

HTML is stand for hyper text mark up language .

HTML is structure for every web page

HTML is NOT programming language

The syntax:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>

<h1>My First Heading</h1>
<p>My first paragraph.</p>

</body>
</html>

All HTML documents must start with <!DOCTYPE html

HTML document must begin with <html> and end </html>

The visible part should be between <body>  </body>

 

HTML Elements

 

This is head tag:

< h1 >Heading for important titles <h1>

<h2> Smaller Heading tag </h2>

Paragraph tag :

< p > this is some text < / p >

Link tag :

<a href=www.google.com“>Link here </a>

Image tag :

<img src=”img.png“>

 

Formatting Elements

 

  • <b> – Bold text
  • <strong> – Important text
  • <i> – Italic text
  • <em> – Emphasized text
  • <mark> – Marked text
  • <small> – Small text
  • <del> – Deleted text
  • <ins> – Inserted text
  • <sub> – Subscript text
  • <sup> – Superscript text

 

Tables

 

To create table in HTML the opening tag for table is  <table> and closing tag is </table>

each row is defined with <tr>.

A table header is defined with <th> tag.

a table cell is defined with <td> tag.

here is an example of a table :

    <th>Lastname</th>

  </tr>

List Elements

 

HTML list items is very simple , to create unorderd list we use <ul> <li> item </li> </ul>

example :

<li>item one </li>

<li>item two </li>

<ul>

HTML layouts

every HTML document have predefined tags for layouts .

<header> head of the page </header>

<nav>navigation bar </nav>

<section>the contant of the page </section>

<article>some articles here</article>

<aside>for sidebar section </aside>

<footer>footer or the end of the page </footer>
